Homeschoolers - do you follow a traditional school holiday schedule?

I am starting home preschool this year and trying to set up my year calendar. I'm brand new at this and I'm curious for those of you who are seasoned homeschoolers: do you tend to stick to a traditional school holiday schedule? I mean like Thanksgiving break, Christmas break, spring break (or whatever your religion/country has)? I know that part of the draw of homeschooling is that you have the freedom to set it how you like, but I went to public school my whole life so I'm not really sure where to start. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
