When is the best time for pregnancy announcement?

I am 9 weeks with our first baby, we haven’t told anyone yet. I am so scared and anxious to tell our family because I am paranoid we’ll tell them and then something will happen to the pregnancy. It’s getting harder to keep it a secret though. When did you tell your family and friends or when is the best time?

Answer

Personally I started telling people around 6 weeks. We’d been going through IVF for a long time and people knew about that. I also knew that I would want the support of my close friends and family if something bad did happen. 
We just finished telling the whole extended family this past weekend as we hit 12 weeks, and that for me was hard. I almost wish we could go back to just having it be a secret with my favorite people.
