How did you navigate through the challenges of gestational diabetes?

Hey fellow mamas! I just got diagnosed with gestational diabetes and I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. Can you share your personal experiences and tips on how to manage this condition? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have GDM for the second time. I saw a dietician the first time. They told me to limit carb intake to 30g with breakfast and lunch and 45-60g with dinner. Less than 15g for snacks and obviously no eating in between so you can check your glucose two hours post meal. No fruit or milk before noon. That all kept me in good condition the first time. This time seems to be a little easier on me. I can have some milk with breakfast as long as I have good protein and/or fiber and my levels are usually under 100 or slightly over but I have only had anything over 120 maybe twice and it was expected based on what I ate. Everyone is different though and sometimes diet isn’t enough so just keep track of your levels and keep your doctor informed and they will guide you as needed in terms of whether you need medication or extra scans, etc.
