How to love someone from afar?

My old best friend and I don't talk anymore, and I'm really starting to get what people mean when they talk about the 1st wlw heartbreak. I didn't even date her, and I've still been heartbroken for the past year. I still love her, and I don't know what to do with that. How (and I mean this genuinely), do I love someone from afar?

I’ve had this issue and it honestly does suck, especially when it’s a best friend. There’s only so much one person can do, but one of the few things that are super helpful is to be there for them if and when they show up again and support them. Since it does seem like this has been on your mind for a while I would try and reach out to your friend and talk to them about it if you haven’t already; the status of y’all’s relationship and possible reasons why you guys may have stopped talking to one another. Sometimes knowing one’s reasons may help sooth the unsteady feeling and may let you feel comfortable with the space that was created. At the end of the day, yes it will be very hard (seeing it is your best friend), slowly but surely finding ways to let go. It honestly might be the best option sometimes. Don’t think on it too much to where you get burnt out.
