Mealtime Mayhem with My 10-Month-Old: Help Needed for a High Chair Hater
Hey everyone, I could really use some advice with my 10-month-old's mealtime struggles. This little guy of mine is turning mealtime into a bit of a rollercoaster – he's easily distracted, loves to play, and seems to have a love-hate relationship with his high chair. And let's not even talk about breakfast; it's become quite the challenge.
The thing is, I can't really go the baby-led weaning route because my in-laws aren't too keen on the mess. So, I'm hoping to get some tips on how to keep my little one focused on his food without turning the dining area into a disaster zone.
Now, here's the kicker – these mealtime sessions can sometimes stretch out for up to two hours! Yeah, it's quite a marathon. On top of that, my little guy isn't really on the heavy side, which adds to my worries.
I've tried giving him toys and his favorite foods, but he's got this aversion to the high chair. And during breakfast, he gets super clingy and won't let me put him down – not to mention, I get dizzy from following him around just to feed him.
And to top it off, I find myself wishing I had those magical Instagram moms' powers who make everything look so easy!
So, calling on you experienced parents out there – any ideas on how to tackle this clingy breakfast situation? And any tips for making the high chair a friendlier place? I'd be incredibly grateful for any wisdom as I navigate these mealtime challenges!
