What essentials should I pack in my hospital bag?

Hello lovely ladies! It's time to prepare that hospital bag for labor and delivery. What are the must-have items you packed or wished you had in your bag? From comfy clothes to toiletries and everything in between, let's share our hospital bag essentials!

The hospital had most things (diapers for baby, wipes, diapers for mom, peri bottle, etc). They have pumps if you end up needing it. They have tools you can use during labor. I read a bunch of lists before packing for my first. So many said to bring your own pillow and an extra long phone charger cable. I didn’t need either. Biggest thing for me was different clothing options. You never know how quickly or slowly your bump will go down. I was tempted to pack maternity clothes but opted for sweatpants that fit me both before and during pregnancy and roomy t-shirts. I skipped leggings so I didn’t feel like everyone could see my diaper butt when leaving lol. I also enjoyed having my own water bottle and snack options. I packed three NB outfits and 3 0-3M outfits of different brands since they all fit differently. Bring a folder to keep all your paperwork organized. I have my birth plan, short term disability claim number, etc in there when we arrived and it was a place to put everything they give you before you leave. We brought a speaker for music during labor which was helpful for maybe an hour. Not super necessary but nice to have. Pack toiletries that you would typically want since that first shower feels great. And make sure you have space in a bag to take supplies home from the hospital.
