Period? Or something else

My period has been all out of wack since I stopped taking the pill, and sometimes I’ll get an all-brown 4-5 day “period”. But it usually comes when I’m supposedly ovulating and too close to the previous period to be a full cycle. So is this just old blood discharge? Or should I consider these to be actual periods? Trying to keep track of things and not sure what to input in my app.
