Test wrong?

I got diagnosed with gestational diabetes a few weeks ago. Im already on insulin but I feel like I have been testing wrong. Am I supposed to use the first drop of blood or the second? And when do I set my timer to test? 2 hours after the first bite or last? I feel like I’ve been testing wrong and I don’t have much guidance.

First drop of blood goes on the test strip. Just make sure your hands are clean and that you squeeze enough blood from your finger to fill the well in the strip. If it’s not enough blood, the glucometer will show an error message and you’ll have to change the strip and prick again from a different spot. My doctor’s office is having me test two hours from the first bite of food after a meal. I set two hours on my phone’s timer as soon as the first morsel is in my mouth. Sometimes I forget to do it right away, so I set it as soon as I remember while I’m eating.

I was told to test one hour after the first bite of food. Some doctors say 2 hours though. I always used the first drop, but again some doctors prefer you wipe it away & use the second drop

You prick your finger wipe that drop of blood off then use the second drop. Also set the timer for 2 hours after the last bite.
