Pre-school teacher advice!

Our theme of the week is the alphabet.

How do I teach and go over the alphabet in a week?

Any advice? I heard the one letter a week approach is to much and not effective.

We did A yesterday for Apple.

I was thinking about maybe starting today doing two letters ( B & C )Getting my kids to practice writing it and identifying the letter.

And then tomorrow go with D & E

I may have to expand my alphabet theme for two weeks to fit it all in

At the school I work for we have someone behind the scenes send up our themes for the week. Next week is colors so I can easily add the rest of the alphabet onto next week with colors.

And the way I see it is I don’t have to be completely detailed as we go through the school year I’ll have plenty of time to focus on the alphabet and examples.

* first time teaching by myself.

My old school we did a letter a week, color, shape, number for example week 1 of school was A, 1, blue, and circle and we just added activities throughout the week to focus on those categories throughout our themes.

This is my first time with laid out themes week by week so I want to do it right but not overwhelm my kiddos! 🫶 thanks for any advice!
