How to avoid a UTI??

Okay pleaseeeee what are some tips to avoid a UTI.this is my second time getting one and I HATE it I literally want to just cry.I’m on meds rn from the doctor to get rid of it but I just want to avoid the risk of it at every cost because it’s so painful .I know you have to pee after sex every time but I also think I got the UTI from lotion.After I shaved my cooch I put lotion on because I get extremely itchy.What moisturizer or oil can I use for down there since obviously the lotion i was using isn’t good and caused an infection
