Membrane sweep?

Has anyone ever done this? Opinions? I’m at the very end of my pregnancy with our first and have yet to dilate or anything and wanted everyone’s opinion whether to get the sweep and try and labor from that or just wait for my doctor to schedule me to be induced?

I think you have to be at least 1-2cm dilated for them to do a sweep; otherwise they can’t physically get to the membrane. With my first, I had 2 sweeps right before and after my due date and both were ineffective so I ended up being induced. Just had a sweep yesterday at 39 weeks with my second and so far just a bunch of spotting and cramping.

I’ve had a membrane sweep before. I’m not sure it did anything. 
My last pregnancy, I went to the chiropractor to get adjusted at 39 weeks 4 days to make sure my pelvis was nicely aligned, and I went into labor that night and had my baby the next morning ☺️
