Ivf tips??

Question

My husband and I are about to start our first round of ivf and would really love to hear about everyone’s experiences and as much advice/tips as possible please!! 
Anything you recommend we buy beforehand? Etc 
Also did you guys experience any pain or discomfort after egg retrieval and if so what helped?

I just had my egg retrieval on monday! Something so small but really helped me was to find some cute bandaids for injections. I know it sounds silly, but it was something small that made me.happy. i found some that are shaped like hearts and it made giving injections easier. I also always iced the spot before injections to help with pain. You dont.need a bunch of organizing totes and bins but it is very helpful to have a designated area for all your medications. As far as the egg retrieval, i didnt realize how much pain i would be in. They.prescribed me pain meds and a heating pad was helpful! The biggest suggestion i.can give is to take stool softners and make sure not to get constipated because it makes recovery so much worse ! I also noticed that i felt off emotionally as well so be prepared to not feel yourself and maybe.give your so a heads up beforehand. Good luck!!

For FET I would recommend lots of soups, keep socks on 24/7 , drink pomegranate or beet juice, relax, no heavy lifting, and don’t test early because it will just stress you out. Good luck 🍀

I’ve been suffering from infertility for 4 years and doing ivf here and there. What I would say is just keep an open mind. Success rates are one thing but everyone responds differently to stims, the journey can be quite emotional as well especially if you don’t have success with viable embryos after a couple of cycles. There will always be those people that collect 30 eggs and have 15 viable ‘embryos to transfer first go and the first one works and they get their baby. But, it’s not the case for everyone. There’s ups and downs when you hear your numbers if they aren’t like the above or when embryos aren’t viable etc. keep communicating, have support. Most of us try things like a acupuncture, naturopathy, Chinese medicine, etc in collaboration with ivf. Look after your mental health. Finally, good luck!
