Birth pain?

I’m a first time momma and still got a long way to go but when the time comes. I’m really not wanting the epidural because I’ve got enough back problems and I’ve heard things. So i guess my question is how many would suggest not getting and how bad is nature birth pain without ?

It’s different for everyone, diff pain levels, durations, diff pain thresholds. 
I originally wanted nothing more then gas and air but after nearly 12 hours and contractions lasting over a minute with like 4 or more in 10 minutes. I couldn’t even catch my breath and sure I blacked out from the pain, i jumped straight to epidural which I originally didn’t want at all. 
And my god the relief was amazing and I was  able to get a sentence out successfully. 
I know others who have used nothing and we’re fine or just used gas and air or things like   pethidine. 
I’d say prepare for the worse but just take it step by step and see how you go.

Actually epidurals can cause chronic back pain years later depending on the person , doesn’t happen to everyone but it does happen . It’s not a “myth”

I just wanna pop in and say that back pain from an epidural is a myth 🤗 back pain after pregnancy is definitely a thing. Your body can get really out of whack. Your spine carries your body differently than it ever has before so back pain after pregnancy is a thing. Back pain from an epidural is just a myth. Im not trying to sway you either way i just dont want you to suffer while in labour and not get the epidural for those reasons.

I had a natural birth, hurts like hell !!!! I mean in my case omg !! I said NexT birth will be on epidural cause i don’t want to feel That pain ever again ! I’m telling you the truth so tou can prepare if you don’t want an epidural, nobody told me this when i asked. All the said was “ oh, you feel a Little presure before He’s coming out and that’s it “. It wasnt like That 😂 So, just prepare youself cause it will hurt like hell

The back pain is actually from pregnancy. Weakened pelvic floor can contribute. Get the epidural if you want and if you can. Depending on what your back issues are you might not be able to. Ask your doctor.

My first baby I had an epidural. My second I didn’t have time and had her natural. I NEVER wanted to do an unmedicated birth in my life but I found that I much preferred my birth without an epidural & my recovery was so much easier without it. I’m pregnant with my third now & opting to skip the epidural this time for sure

I’ve had two babies without an epidural and expecting my third. It’s not bad honestly and I’m excited about labour. Practice coping - breathing, low vocal sounds, swaying, rocking, don’t tense up try to stay relaxed. Warm water can help. Your mindset is key, and a good support system will help (doula, partner, midwife or nurse). Know what you want and be determined. It’s honestly worth it!!
