Need advice for my husband’s friend

So my husband has a friend who unfortunately has horrible taste in women and always ends up dating the craziest girls. His first girlfriend was a stalker, his second isolated him from everyone and threatened to kill herself if he ever broke up with her, and the the third one went crazy on him when she asked to open the relationship and he said no. He broke up with her, but she will not stop showing up at his house and blowing up his phone. Well now conveniently 1 month after breaking up with her, she called him and nonchalantly told him she’s pregnant, it’s his, and he can either get back in a relationship with her or never see his child. Obviously, he’s in shock and doesn’t know what to do. It’s already been made clear that they do not work as a couple, and he doesn’t want her in his life anymore. However, if she’s telling the truth and she is pregnant with his child, he wants to step up for his child and be an active part of its life. I don’t know that I believe her to begin with, as to me it seems like another manipulation tactic to get him back, but on the off chance she’s telling the truth, what should he do? Can she legally withhold his child from him? Does he have any rights as the child’s father?
