Is age really just a number?!

Question

I recently met a guy he’s 46 but look really young and nice looking, I’m 33! We’ve been talking for awhile and everything seems to be going good, until it doesn’t. I forget he’s age sometimes when we’re together but soon remember after he says something that ‘shows his age’. My question to you all is do you think ages is a factor when dating? Is 13 years a little too much of a difference? Are am I just thinking too much about it!

My man is 8 years older, but if he was 13 years older I’d still be with him!

Depends for me why they are still single at 46. That could be the dealbreaker, if any. But no, I don’t think at your ages 13 years is that bad.

Personally age makes a big difference for me. My husband is the same age as me and I prefer that, but if something were to happen to him I would not date anyone more than 4 years my age and would not date younger. I've been in a few 7-10 year age difference relationships and they were not good at all. Very much a power trip. It's just not for me.  However, once you're past 30 having a 13 year age difference isn't as much of a big deal. You're both more likely to be established in your careers, have kids, possibly own homes. The life stage isn't as massive of an issue. If my husband and I divorced and he was 46 interested in someone your age it might pose a problem depending on where she was at in life. Theoretically at 46 my husband would be an empty nester, own our home outright, no debt, be about to retire in 3 years, and have ZERO interest in more children. We had the discussion today due to a show we were watching at he told me that at 40 if something had happened to me and he found.someone new she would have to be fine with never having children had she not had any yet. Both of his parents retired by 45, were empty nesters, and get to travel full time. That's what he wants until grandbabies are born. As long as the 2 if you are still in similar stages of life and he doesn't do a power trip over you then there shouldn't be an issue.

There are 13 years between my partner and I. We met when I was 18 and he was 31, I am now 30 weeks pregnant with our 3rd daughter together and we raise his son together. I genuinely don’t notice our age difference. 
We celebrate our 7th anniversary next month 🙂
