Did you name your son after his father?

I want to name my son after my husband but he doesn’t want to….. What are some of you lady’s opinion on naming your son after the father.

I don’t like it personally, as the child is very rarely called by their actual name and becomes either junior, a variation or middle name. 
To me there’s lots of different names in the world, so to have two people in the same house with the same name just seems silly to me. 
I’m all for using dads name as middle name potentially or dads surname typically, but feel like the child should have their own identity. 
Also I don’t really like my husbands name as it’s boring lol

I’m the complete opposite lol. My man wanted to name our baby after him and I was firmly against it. I was willing to die on that hill. Thankfully we now know we’re having a girl, but I would respect his wishes if he didn’t want to.

In our culture, it's considered kinda arrogant to name your child after yourself, so we didnt. Naming after a grandparent is somewhat common though.

I like passing down the mothers maiden name instead! It’s fun to switch it up and honor the mother!

I would never. My husband's name doesn't fit what I prefer in names for my children and I would have a stroke before giving a son such a horrible middle name.

My son is getting the same middle name as my husband. My husband really wanted it since it’s his middle name and his dad and grandpa’s first name

No we did my boyfriend's name as middle name, he wanted to give out second son the same middle name too 😂

We used my husband’s middle name as our oldest’s middle name, and his first name as our second’s middle name. I would never do the Junior thing. If this third baby is a boy, we’re considering a name to match my husband’s initials. I have had a say in all the names, it’s not like my husband domineered the whole thing. So from my perspective, incorporating into the middle name may be the better option if you still want to use part(s) of your husband’s name.
