Foundation from hell

Question

Help!!! I spent 40 dollars on the Rare beauty foundation and this is what I was left with after only 5 hours. Moisturized, primed and set, also. Rare beauty setting spray and Fenty instant blotting and setting powder. I’m thinking maybe the translucent setting powder might not be right with this foundation. I’ve read nothing but raving reviews for Rare beauty so I’m highly disappointed and surprised at this result.

Ngl I don’t know all that much about makeup (I don’t wear foundation) but I’ve heard that mixing a water based primer with a silicone based foundation (including the other way around) will cause problems with it not laying right. Do u know what types the ones ur using are? I hope it gets figured out soon!

my opinion is the primer. water base and water base and silicone goes with silicone. i personally used the elf hydro grip and the nyx concealer serum (just to add an example). when using incompatible primers, it causes caking and patches. online it says the foundation is water based, my personal favorite affordable water based primer is the elf hydro grip! what primer are you using right now?

I don't know how to help with making the current foundation look better, but if you're looking at alternatives later on, this is the best foundation I have ever used. It literally looks like I'm not wearing anything at all (even without a primer, setting spray etc), and I have many skin concerns due to occasional acne, redness and excess oil.
Even my husband says it's extremely natural looking. 
They do online matching (which worked wonders), and they exchange the foundation of it's not the right shade for free of charge.

Hmmm that is bizarre! What do you use to blend it out? And do you exfoliate?

This must be disappointing after spending 40 dollars on a foundation that separates. If switching your primer doesn't help- I heard sometimes over prepping your skin can make your skin not want to hold anymore product.
