Thoughts on registry feature? Scams or Legitimate?

So glow constantly asks about adding a registry on here which I wasnt going to do. I work my hubby works & we are lucky enough to have supportive people in our lives with whom we have shared our registry with privately & have purchased most of what we want & need ourselves. However I ended up posting a rather vage one more with my own goals of buying an owlet sock and glow makes it easy to compare prices on here but because I entered through glow for the Enfamil deal & the contest or giveaway thing and the only way to do that is make & share a registry through this app so I did. Is it just me or do you think glow should allow people to utilize these without sharing a registry? Am I the only one thinking it just opens the door for people to try to Scam or get free stuff? Im not bashing anyone who generally needs help as we have needed help at some point in our lives I just feel like theyre making it to easy for people to post these items theyre "in need" of. Like gift cards?!? Um ok then. I can see doing a gift exchange with other moms if youve made those connections on this app but you can also do that privately. I am guessing glow must get a % profit off of every item sold through this registry feature. Thoughts? Does anyone participate in the gift exchange? Good experiences? Bad experiences? Im genuinely curious if people enjoy this feature? I have thought about gifting people on here but for some reason I do not like the way its done I also think if your expecting and receiving you should be returning the favor isnt that how a gift exchange goes? Unless you have everything you need or arent expecting and feel generous to gift someone but how do you actually know if its a legit need and not someone taking advantage? Ive seen many downvotes on registry shares which isnt great I understand why its downvoted like people are just posting asking for $ but what if they really truly have no support? How do we as community downvote those ladies who are truly in need of those gifts?! Does anyone have ideas on how to tell a scam from a legit mother who really needs help?
