(late) Honeymoon Ideas

We got married and did not go on a honeymoon. We promised we would do a honeymoon two years later (so it’ll be in 2024). The reasons behind this was the fact that I lost my job a few months before we got married and started a new one and wasn’t entitled to vacation and was grateful to get time off for my wedding but I didn’t want to take advantage by asking for two weeks off being so new. Another reason was saving and reaching a more long term goal - we wanted to pay off debt in our first year of marriage and put away for a house. Although we have not found a house just yet we have reached our “bare minimum” goal of what we wanted to put away. We are still contributing of course but we wanted to reach a number before we then splurged on a honeymoon.

Then I got pregnant LOL oops! Just kidding. So now our baby is here and healthy and we are going to go away while I’m still on leave before I go back to work October 2024.

ANYWAYS. Give me some ideas based on the following:

We live in Toronto so that’s where we would leave from and it’ll give you an idea geographically where we can or cannot go etc. A week is enough of a getaway. We would like to go somewhere warm and tropical. With a budget of $5000.
