How was IVF for you?

So my partner and I are coming to our last option to do IVF and we wanted to know how was your experience, how many transfer did it take for you, and also what we need to know before doing the treatments?

It was expensive...very very expensive. But we had an amazing team  of doctors and that made a huge difference. I had a super easy time and.had zero side effects at all and felt good the whole way. We started about 6 weeks after our initial consult for it (had been doing iui with the same place/doc already) and a few months later had my retrieval and did a fresh transfer which did not take. Did a frozen transfer the next month and took and got our baby. What to know I guess depends on what you dont know or are most curious about. I didnt havr any surprise type aspects but did a lot of my own research, had a great clinic that prepared us and an amazing doctor. A lot of people I have heqrd dont realize how many appts it is and how much time you actually spend at places doing scans/blood draws/med pick ups/etc so maybe the time commitment but I thankfully had a great experience with a great team. Find a good team and clinic because otherwise I have seen it becomes horrible. A friend of mine went to a different clinic and missed an entire cycle and couldn't do the fertilization because the ckinic messed up the schedule for her husbands semen collection. A whole cycle of meds and appts wasted (with no refund as the clinics dont provide the meds, you get those separately from pharmacies) so time and money wasted and an emotional F you basically. Choose the right place even if the right place is more expensive..it might end up being the same price or cheaper in the end but the comfort/confidence factor is there.
