4yr old Lingering Cough and runny nose for a month now

Has anyone else kids dealt with a lingering cough and runny nose after a cold for more than 2 weeks?

My daughter is 4 (In pre-k) and was sick about a month ago with a 102 fever, cough, runny nose, and belly ache. She was well in a week except she still has this lingering cough and runny nose. The cough is slowly getting better but is pretty persistent at night and she still has a runny nose. We have tried everything and wondering if we should take her back to the doctor even though symptoms are slowly improving. Other than those two things she is a happy playful kiddo. We've tried everything... humidifier does help. Anyone Ive talked to including the doc says that this is typical for her age especially this time of year and being in school.
