Husband doesn't want a wedding anymore

Me and my husband were not in a good place financially when we got married. We couldn't afford a wedding so we did something small at the court house. He also didn't tell his family we were getting married and his mom was really hurt by that. Fast forward to 8 years later, we are finally have the money for my dream wedding but my husband doesn't want a wedding anymore because everyone in his family is dead now. His mom passed away to cancer. His dad died from suicide, then a year later his brother committed suicide. Literally the only family he has left is his half brother who he doesn't talk to because he sexually abused him and his other brother. Grandparents are dead. The only cousins he was close to are dead. One by drug overdose. One by suicide. He has no family. I'm not trying to be selfish but I've always wanted a wedding and though and have dreamed of it since I was a girl. My mom is upset about it too and I'm not sure what to do.
