Itch and my period?

Anyone else ever get a random burn or itch during their period? I have been using a pad this month and change my pad regularly as I should. I was just asleep and woke up with major burning and itching out of nowhere has anyone ever experienced this? I’m assuming I was having a reaction to the pad because I cleaned up and changed to a tampon and the pain since went away a bit and seems to be getting better. I was using the same brand/style pad as I normally do too.
