Very high TSH during pregnancy
I have had thyroid problems for a long time, but weaned myself off of medication earlier this year as I tried a holistic and diet centered approach. I made so much improvement this year, and my periods went from highly irregular and very heavy to completely normal…then I got pregnant after trying for forever yay!! I’ve continued eating healthy the best I can and haven’t thought too much of it, but my midwife tested my TSH and they came back at 76 (normal is between .5 and 5). I honestly was expecting them to be elevated, but certainly not to this degree. I’m starting on thyroid medication right away, but my question is does anyone else have experience with this in a pregnancy and was your baby okay? My pregnancy with my son I couldn’t take meds in the beginning due to HG but took them later and everything was fine (not sure what my levels were at at the time).
I have my first ultrasound in 2 days but have been so scared of a missed miscarriage and now I’m even moreso. I still have pregnancy symptoms but I know that they don’t always go away right away.
Had a loss last year but it was 4 weeks and bleeding/cramping.
