bartholian cyst

i went to the gp today about my bartholian cyst as i was worried about it, it didn’t really cause me any discomfort however it did get itchy at night and i was struggling to have sex with my boyfriend. my Gp examined it and said that he thinks it will go away on its own. i’ve had a series of medical conditions that have always lingered so i find it hard to believe someone when they tell me it will go away and get better, he never gave me any medication or advice for it to go away quicker and just told me not to worry about it. do you think i can trust him when he says it will go away. because surely if it’s itching me and i cant have sex then something needs to be done, i’ve already had it for almost 3 weeks now
