High BP - Nifedipine & Atenolol

Ever since I’ve been about 12 weeks pregnant, I’ve been on low dose baby aspirin, and nifedipine due to high blood pressure. I go back to the hypertension clinic every week to check and it’s still high, & I take 2 30 MG nifedipine tablets every 12 hrs. My average blood pressure is

145/82. I did a 24 hour urine collection and my protein for 24 hrs was 136.

2 weeks ago, still high, so they added atenolol to the mix. So I’m taking not only my baby aspirin but 2 30 mg nifedipines every 12 hrs AND atenolol 25mg twice daily.

now looking up atenolol, it’s a class D drug and not really safe during pregnancy. My doctor wouldn’t put me on something that would potentially harm the baby right!?!

I’m 17 weeks pregnant today & so worried about this.
