I know this is a trending topic but I’ve been debating whether or not to fill my own stocking this year. I do every year but I have mentioned to my husband, a couple times, that I would like him to do my stocking. We agreed no gifts this year as money is tight but after the agreement I said “I’m at least going to give you a stocking.” Last week he saw me separating his and the kids stocking stuffers so he knows he’s getting one but I’m betting money he won’t do one for me, mostly because he never has before. I don’t want to openly ask for a stocking this year because gifts are supposed to be thoughtful gestures and asking ruins the whole point. My biggest reason to do my own stocking is that I know my kids will be upset if mine is empty. The easy solution could be to not get him one either but gift giving is my love language and it’s Christmas and I want to give him a stocking as much as I would like to receive one. Is it petty to let mine be empty? Should I risk disrupting Christmas? AITA for making my husband/kids father look bad on Christmas? 😂
