breakthrough bleeding ?

so around 3 months pp i got on birth control, i use nuvaring which i had never tried before. i skip my periods on it because i get really bad periods especially while on birth control and i’m on my 3rd ring. last week i started having light spotting, it’s still pretty light but enough to where i’ve been using pads/liners. it’s been around 7 days and it doesn’t seem to be getting any lighter. has anyone else had this experience and is this normal ? is it still considered breakthrough bleeding at this point ?
