Stomach bug/food poisoning and late period

So I had/have had a stomach bug or some sort of food poisoning for the past few days. I’m also late for my period by 2 days. I’m wondering if the bug could have delayed it, I know it can delay ovulation but can it delay the actual period? I took a test maybe 4 days ago and it looked negative but haven’t made it to the store since to test.
