My now ex sent me a text as I was leaving work saying he packed up all his stuff and left to his parents house (hours away). Basically saying he's done with the relationship and wants out of the apartment. I came home to a majority of furniture and all his stuff gone. He didn't even talk to me about leaving at all. The apartment is under both of our names and I feel with the way he just packed all his stuff and left without telling me, he should pay for the lease breaking fee. He's the one that wants out. I did not want any of this. I just want thoughts on handling breaking a lease with an ex. I've thought about bringing up couples counseling to maybe fix things. I don't know

We haven't seen each other still. Just texts but he's been lowkey hinting at me just staying at the apartment and him getting out. Not sure what this means but I'm just overall suspicious over this whole thing.
