Real conversation I had as a supervisor with a brand new socialworker

I had a socialworker at her first home visit called and this is how that went.

Her: Hi! So I called the cops. Pretty sure we need to remove these kids. The parents stole my car.

Me: Wha- what? They stole you car?

Her: Yeah!

Me: How?!

Her: Idk how! I was speaking with the kids and the parents stepped outside. I noticed my car driving away. I guess they got into my purse while I wasn't looking. I don't know!

Me: Are the kids okay

Her: Yeah. They're sitting having a snack like this is normal.

I was on the phone with her when the cops showed up. I feel so bad for this being her first time doing a home visit. This job is not for the weak.
