Today we went for our 19 week anatomy scan which revealed a cyst at the base of baby girls spine. Doctor said this is usually indicative with spina bifida. I am scheduled for an amniocentesis tomorrow morning and also have to get an MRI to confirm the ultrasound results. I can’t seem to wrap my head around this. Genetic blood test at 13 weeks was negative for down’s, etc. and neural tube defects were also ruled out during my NT scan at 13 weeks. I guess I just don’t understand why this is just now being found. I’ve been crying all day and I don’t know what to expect.
