Can my iud (para guard) be causing bv?

I’ve had my iud a little over 4 years and this past month and a half I’ve been getting recurring bv, I’m on my 3 treatment. Has anyone else dealt with this?

I never dealt with BV on Paraguard however, I did deal with hormonal shifts from that devil. I could only have it for 2 years as it messed with me mentally. As soon as I got it out I was a different person. 
I also vaguely remember my OB/GYN telling that it may cause BV as its a foreign object inside my body. Im surprised your doctor didn’t discuss this with you prior to you having it placed nor during one of your appointments for treatment.

I don’t know about paraguard because I have the hormonal IUD but I’ve never had this issue
