A little earlier tonight I had a fetal mri done (haven’t been able to talk to my doctor yet about this) and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same? I had an mri of my head done years ago in my teens and I don’t remember experiencing this at all. Though this time of course was abdominal so I was much deeper in the machine, maybe that has something to do with it? It lasted about an hour and I was completely miserable. The room itself was fairly cold and the employees covered me in a blanket, propped me halfway on my side-halfway on my back with wedges, put some sort of contraption over my stomach (I don’t know what it was lol), put a headset on me, gave me a button to get their attention, and they put some goggles over my eyes that played a movie while I laid there. I was okay at first but shortly after the scan started, I started feeling incredibly hot. I did my best to hold off and not press the button because that’s just the type of person I am but it got unbearable. I could feel my entire body flushing, I was pouring sweat, and I felt so hot sort of from within if that makes sense. I pressed the button and asked if they could take off the blanket and that I was feeling really hot. They did and turned on a fan but it didn’t help all that much and I could feel my baby freaking out. Towards the end they had to have me hold my breath for a little while for some specific pictures and I felt like I was going to pass out and felt my face pounding. When I got out, I saw my reflection and my entire body was bright red and sweaty. Is this normal?? The employees didn’t seem too shocked besides someone saying “You get pretty toasty in there?” They were nice and everything, I just never ever want to do that again goodness. Has this happened to anyone else?
