Reasons not to tell our parents that I’m pregnant?

I just found out I’m pregnant this week. I’m not even 4 weeks yet 🫣 This is our second pregnancy, and the first we told our parents around 9 weeks. Is there really any reason to wait to tell them? If something happens, I would be okay if they know our situation. And we see them often, so I’d kind of want them to know I’m tired and feeling sick a lot of the time. Is it a superstition to not tell anyone before 12 weeks?

Tell when you want! We told my parents right away for all our pregnancies. It was nice to have their support when we did have a loss.

My first pregnancy we waited until confirmed with ultrasound. Which was 7 weeks. I lost her at 15 weeks due to her being Trisomy 18. I told others around the same time. Never announced in social media. Second pregnancy, parents knew day I tested. Now have a healthy 3 month old. Social media was around 12 weeks when my adopted daughter held the ultrasounds with a shirt on that said big sister to a little mister.

I told my parents too, I called my mom the day I found out and my in laws soon after that. I felt like if it did end badly, I would want them to know for emotional support

I told people as soon as I knew with all three pregnancies. I only ever waited to announce on social media.
