Will it affect long term ?

Hey guys I’m considering getting nipple piercings in a couple weeks, but I’m also thinking about having kids some day in the future. I know breast tends to get bigger, tender, and sore during pregnancy but will piercings make them hurt more? Im considering having my baby on the bottle as well instead of breast feeding. But will there be more leaking if I get piercings ? More painful than those without piercings? Will I have to take them out ?

I got my nipples pierced at 18 (after having my first child). I got pregnant with my second child at 23 & took them out around 10 weeks. They do make maternity nipple jewelry that is longer & silicone instead of metal, which allows for your nipple to grow w out too much discomfort. I found them uncomfortable to have during pregnancy & I know someone who had to get hers removed by a doctor because she left them in during pregnancy & her nipples grew into them by the second trimester. So that part is up to you, but I would recommend either taking them out or getting the maternity jewelry so that doesn’t happen. As far as breastfeeding goes, I had no issues with that. I’ve had 2 children since taking my nipple piercings out & breastfed both of them w no issues, no extra pain. You can’t breastfeed with nipple rings in, I personally feel like it would be a hassle to take them out everytime you feed, and I think you’d be at a higher risk of infection because nipples do get super irritated & sore during the first few weeks of breastfeeding. So I’m not really sure what the point of keeping them in after baby comes if you plan on breastfeeding. I wouldn’t recommend it. I’m currently pregnant with my last & after I’m done breastfeeding this one, I will probably get mine pierced again lol.
