IV iron?

Question

I got bloodwork done yesterday and my doctor wants me to go in and get iron through an IV. Usually when I take iron supplements it’s hard on my stomach and wondering if I might have any symptoms with it going in through an IV? What’s everyone’s experience with it if they have had it ?

Answer

I had them with my first pregnancy and currently receiving them for this pregnancy too. I cant take the supplements due to them making me nauseous and causing bad constipation. Straight after I feel fine, the next day I feel really tired have a headache I can't shift and feel quite sick. The second day everything calms down and I feel much better. Have more energy and not as fatigued as I was before.
