Is he lying ?

My friends with benefits and I had sex in the morning three days ago but I was still quite sleepy and he woke up hor** so we did the sex position spooning and he came inside me and told me 2 days later he said he thought we was doing anal sex … we never ever talked about anal sex and how can he get them both confused my question is do you think he’s lying or is he unexperienced ?? I took a plan b regardless but idk whether to continue seeing him or not
