Use the name or no?

My husband and I are pregnant with #3. We don’t know the gender yet, but we’re thinking Esme (pronounced “ehz-may”) for a girl. We have two girls with E names already, however one goes by a nickname that starts with N.

Would we be setting her up for having to correct her name pronunciation/spelling for the rest of her life?

Also, we are not twilight fans but someone pointed out that that is a character’s name. Will everyone think we named her after that character?

I’ve seen Esme a lot, and it’s super cute! But I’ve already heard it as “ehz-me” so that may be a correction for thing she may have to correct with peeps

Maybe you can do “Esmay” instead of spelling it Esme and not get the confusion

Prepare for twilight comments for the first year of the baby’s life lol. My son is named Cullen and I totally didn’t even consider the connection. Esme is pretty regardless :)

Always loved that name and although I loved the twilight movies.. me and everyone I know don’t think of that name related to that movie

It’s becoming a more popular name, I don’t think most people would have trouble with it. Some people who haven’t heard it before may say “es-mee” instead.
