My 4 yr old niece scared me and I cried

She woke up out of her sleep screaming, and it wasn’t like “I am just crying bc I’m sad and tired.” It was a pain cry that made the hair on my neck stand up. She screamed and screamed while I kept asking what was wrong until she finally told me it was her arm that was hurting. She literally hadn’t been out of my sight the whole time I was watching her and she didn’t have anything happen to her arm nor had she complained about it hurting before nap. There was no marks on her arm. I got her an ice pack and tried to hold my tears back because I don’t know… that pain cry like deeply upset me I have never ever heard that cry from her before. I realized a minute later… so you know when you fall asleep dead weight on your arm and you wake up to it aching? I’m pretty sure that’s what happened. She’d probably never felt that before and thought her arm was gonna fall off. I told her mom what had happened, and recorded her screaming because I wanted her to see it like, “look at this, I don’t know what’s going on.” And then I told her what I thought and let her know that if she complained about it after waking up from nap I would let her know.

She went back to sleep after getting the ice pack and woke up fine with no complaints about her arm. I felt like such an idiot for freaking out that bad🫠 and calling her mom over it, all dramatic.

But again I have just never ever heard that scream!
