Preeclampsia & C-Section ➡️ Successful VBAC?
TLDR: TTC #2. Preeclampsia & traumatic 1st birth. Want to try for VBAC if I go into labor on my own. Will plan for c-section if repeat pre-term preeclampsia. Did you have a successful VBAC after a similar previous birth? Did you opt for a c-section so you’d know what to expect? Did you try for a VBAC and not succeed?
Hey everyone! I’m 33 and will start TTC #2 next month. My last pregnancy, I had preeclampsia, was induced, baby was sunny side up, and ended up with a C-section after 40 hours of labor. A lot happened in those 40 hours, most of it not what I wanted, AND because of my blood pressure, the medical team did not give me all of the information I needed to make the right decisions. I had PTSD for about 2 1/2 years. That’s why it took me so long to even consider a second child. This time around, I want to try for a VBAC if I go into labor on my own and baby is in the right position. If I end up with preeclampsia again, I would rather schedule a c-section than have the induction and blood pressure meds fight each other and the medical team fight me. Has anyone had a similar previous birth and then a successful VBAC? Any advice from anyone with similar circumstances is welcome! I want to hear about the decisions you made, why you made them, and how the next birth turned out. I want everything - from really positive natural births that went just how you dreamed to cautionary tales. I want to be prepared for all possible outcomes this time around.
