How long do you play with your kid(s) daily?

Roughly how many minutes or hours do you play with your kid(s) a day?

I play with my kid but I feel like I don’t play with my kid enough. I’m just wondering if I’m not alone in this or if there’s an amount that kids need?

Need more info to answer this question because it would be wildly different depending on whether it's a non-working day or not. I think also, grownups sometimes play TOO much with their kid where it would actually be more beneficial to their development to play more independently. If you have a decent amount of quality time with them each day then i think that could be eating together, chores with them, bathtime, taking a walk together or snuggling on the sofa, then that would be almost as beneficial as play. Also if you know they have been playing all day at nursery or with grandparents or something then they have ticked boxes for exercise and imagination already so just get them to help with dinner and that might be just what they need more from you, some quiet time together.

I play with my kids 2-3 hours a day, but I'm also a SAHM. A spend all day with them and include them in everything from chores to cooking. I also homeschool so they have a lot of attention all day. When my husband gets home from work he plays with them from the moment dinner is over, it's usually on the table when he gets home, until bedtime. He plays with them even through bathtime. We both play with them through bedtime routine as well. They're awake 10 hours a day so they have lots of play time. Play doesn't just look like chasing them around when it comes to me. It's coloring, singing, dancing, painting, them helping cook, ect.

We are together all day, every day so we play probably combined 2-3. He is getting to that age where he prefers playing alone though. I follow his lead.

My partners and I play with our son Monday - Friday for about 2-3 hours after work. On the weekends, we play all day. Sometimes, our child prefers to play by himself and have alone time.
