I’ve never put myself out there but I asked if a bartender had a girl friend and he said he did which is fine, but I’m proud that I put myself out there. I was so nervous to ask but I was so proud after I did, do the nerves eventually go away?

The more comfortable and confident you are in your skin the easier it is. Usually with people you already know it’s easier. In settings you are comfortable in. Class. Religious affiliations. Neighbor people you are around on the norm. Saying hey wanna grab a cup of coffee some time is a little easier. When it’s a total stranger it’s harder in a setting that’s off to you and aren’t comfortable, you are already off your game. However, playing the vulnerable or clueless at like at a Home Depot works too. Any place you can strike up a conversation. I’m short so asking for something on a higher shelf thank you, you are my hero. Anything can open a door to conversation. I once talked to a guy for an hour at a grocery store they had just put on a new lottery machine and he was showing me all the features and how to use it. And we ended up talking for an hour. He gave me his number even though I told him multiple times that I was dating and wasn’t interested etc. he was hoping I would cave. He was nice not pushy. If I hadn’t been involved I might have called him. Just be open and friendly. Accentuate your best features. Nice eyes, some glasses even non prescription for fun. And doubles as a roll play prop the naughty librarian. lol. Have fun.
