I have been doing some thinking lately and I do not think kids are for me. I am 20 y/o and finally sitting down thinking abt my future. One thing I noticed is that literally EVERYTHING, grocery, clothes, cleaning supplies, etc, has gone up %50 minimum and some as high as %65 in just the last 3 years. Plus how much is cost to buy a house nowadays is almost impossible. Is my generation and the ones to come after me bound to fail because of this? I feel the government is purposely trying to make us younger people fail financially, making it so we rely on government assistance, etc. Another thing is how much the crime has gone up in the last 5-10 years. I mean even the small city I grew up in with little to no crime, had 2 deaths and 3 attempted murders plus an assault resulting in a brain bleed, just this last week! I am so scared for the future and as much as I always wanted children of my own, I don’t think it is fair for me to struggle raising them, and for them to be born into a world that only continues to down spiral.

And I know they are plenty of jobs that can afford a family. But are those people happy? Working long/late hours to JUST get by on bills. Having to scrap up when u want to go on a trip. The old rich is the new poor and it just keeps getting worse.

Sorry this is just a rant. I am terrified of this adult life and I think this is the worst time in history to be a young adult.
