Dentist question
When I was 14, the orthodontist scanned my face to see if braces were ever necessary..
It could have been beneficial, but not necessary and I don't know who made the choice but I never had braces.. I'm 100% ok with that and is of no value to the story other than I had my face x-rayed for this.
At some point, I was also told I had no wisdom teeth.
Now, I'm 30 and I've been feeling like the moling edge of a tooth behind my last teeth in the shape of my gums.. I figured this was weird but whatever, xray had shown I had no wisdom teeth so it couldn't have been that, right? But I have been wondering about it for a while.
I have been having some pain, nothing serious and similar pain as when I have sinus issues, and some headaches as well.
Just now I felt a piece of new tooth poking through my gums.. so obviously it's actually a tooth and I have no clue what I'm supposed to do with this information.
I feel like I should throw it a birthday party LOL 🤣 But seriously.. Do I do something about it? Do I notify my dentist?
@Katie
Not nearly enough as I should be going but they don't xray every time I go either.
I think it's been 2 years now, the topic of a wisdom tooth never really came up with my new dentist.
I will be postponing too because I just became a single mom and I don't have the finances to go to the dentist right now. Going to the dentist is pretty expensive.
@all,
No offense was taken by Katie's question, she makes a good point.
I'm not in the US, and so far it's been a lot cheaper to not go every year as I haven't had any problems with my teeth in 10 years. I went to the dentist maybe 3 times the last 10 years. I just left a financially abusive situation so once my finances are better the plan is to go twice a year, also to set a good example for my kid.
I do take a lot of care in my teeth at home.
