Does it count as BD if husband couldn't "complete" the act?

I feel like ttc is stressing out my husband or something, because we tried BD and he wasn't able to finish. Does that still count as trying? I'm frustrated because it's happened a few times and it's always during the fertile window when I've gotten an LH surge and would be the prime time to possibly get pregnant. I try not to let on that I'm ovulating, but my cycles are regular so he kind of figures it out. He also knows what fertile CM is so he can tell that way.
