Do I go on the date or cut him off?

Please don’t crucify me in the comments I have no experience in dating..
So me and three of my friends have had no luck in dating so we all decided to sign up on this dating app “OKCupid” I matched with this guy he’s cute I like that he’s looking for something long term, So after chatting for a few days we exchange numbers we hop on a phone call all is good I really like that he has emotional intelligence which most men don’t have he really validated my feelings on certain topics. So fast forward he plans a date for this Tuesday and he liked our conversation so much that he has already planned our second date lol. I obviously tell my friends about this guy I’m the first one in the group to have a in person date so they were stoked and asked for a picture…I sent his photo and boom two screenshots of him messaging my friends the same message he sent me… I get it he’s not my boyfriend but I do feel a little disappointed not to mention I haven’t heard from him all day until about 18 minutes ago and he just texted “Hey Hey how’s your night going”.
Should I cancel this date? this has sorta put a sour taste in my mouth.

You guys aren't exclusive or even talking. Sounds like he's just dating around for now until he finds the one. He's not obligated to be loyal or only talk to you, same goes for you. If you guys were at least in the serious stage of talking or exclusive, then yeah he'd be wrong but he's just dating around. Don't get too attached, it's only been a few days.

Personally this would also put a sour taste in my mouth & I’d cancel. I was VERY picky when I was dating before I met my now husband & it eventually paid off, which is why we’re married lol but that’s just me personally. You guys aren’t exclusive so if you don’t see the harm in dating around or him dating around, then no harm or foul. I found out a few months into dating my husband that he was talking to other girls while him & I were also talking but once we started becoming more exclusive & actually dating, he stopped talking to them. That’s all it was too was trying to talk to different people & get to know different people. 
But I think if I had known he was talking to different people at the time, I would have likely ended things. So I don’t know, it could go either way but I totally get this. It would put a sour taste in my mouth as well.

I talked to dozens of guys online before I met my husband (also met him via online), and Im sure he did the same. One of my former coworkers also married a guy she met online and when I met him I remembered he had messaged me before she and him met but I never responded lol. Thats kinda how it goes...you throw out a bunch of hello's and see who you connect with. He seemed to connect with you so who cares, go and see what happens. If he did something red flag to them eg stood them up or something then yeah thats a flag for you, but him just messaging them isnt concerning.

He is also talking to your friends of all people who are also on there?!!? What a strange coincidence; makes me wonder if it really is one! Him talking to several people at a time in order to filter and find the right one is fine but telling everyone the exact same things isn't. Is he planning to go on a date with each of your friends too? Gosh this is awkward. I feel like this is the kind of situation that can ruin friendships. If you want to go on the date out of curiosity, go. If he keeps up the idea of the second date and the first one went really well,  go. But if he also goes on a date with any of your friends cut him off!!
