I’m in a dilemma

I’m a sophomore in high school. I like a guy who states that he really likes me but also now likes someone else. He says he wants to continue to take things slow and continue getting to know each other which I agreed with. He states that he wants to see how my mind works and see what we have. I found out about the other girl because she posted on his fb page for him to call her. What should I do in this situation? Should I continue getting to know him or is he just dragging me along? I don’t want my time wasted. I told him I don’t want to have to feel like I’m competing against another person and he told me that he would let me know if anything ever comes out of it since she is a very busy person.
