Anyone familiar with Hcg levels??

Hi I’m currently 5w6d today, I had an ultrasound yesterday and was told you nothing was showing. They did hcg level that resulted at 12,697. I had an ectopic back in July so I’m really worried is happening again. Do you know if this hcg levels are somehow suggesting an ectopic?

Nothing as in no gestational sac even? If you have irregular or long cycles could def just be you’re measuring behind which is normal too if your scan shows nothing
But if you only had a gestational sac that would be promising. My hcg was 13,500 at 5 w 6 d and only a gestational sac and all went fine for me

hCG alone can’t tell you if something is ectopic, but can give you an idea if something should be seen on ultrasound. At that hCG level, they will typically have seen SOMETHING in your uterus, even transabdominally. It may not yet be a clear fetus or heartbeat, but at least a sac. I hope they’re able to see something soon!

There should be a gestational sac seen on transvaginal ultrasound by an HCG of 1000. If not that should be a red flag to the ultrasound tech and your doctor

You just may be a little earlier than you thought and that’s why they can’t see anything

5 weeks is pretty early. It’s normal not to see anything at this stage. Give it another week or two
