CHEROKEE ST?

Goodmorning ladies! 
I am taking a trip to St. Louis here soon and I booked a place to stay .
It is on Cherokee st and it’s right on the corner of Cherokee and lemp ( it’s near an Irish pub) 
Is this place safe ? Is the community safe ?

I used to live very close to this intersection, my apartment was around the corner on DeMenil. You will be within walking distance of the Lemp mansion, our haunted mansion attraction! Also, Cherokee is a great area and full of cultural diversity but it can be dangerous at night. If you are a kind/normal person; you should have little to no issues as I never had any problems in all the years I lived there. I did however, hear gunshots at night. That will be most of the south city area. If you are looking for a suggestion, I would say the Soulard/lafayette square area is best for visitors but it could be quite a bit more expensive
